James Feigl
Assistant to the Assoc. Laboratory Director - Computing and Life Sciences (CLS), Room A231

Jim manages administrative and financial functions for the Computing and Life Sciences (CLS-ALD). He provides leadership, strategic planning, and organizational oversight in the areas of research budgets, proposals, and grants to the MCS division and to start-up CLS divisions, institutes, and centers.

Judy provides editorial assistance to MCS staff, handling clearance issues and the preparation of technical manuscripts for journals, conference proceedings, or reports and on the Web.

La Joyce Bullock
Administrative Secretary, Bldg. 203, Room C234

La Joyce provides administrative support to the Laboratory for Numerical Simulation (LANS) and a subset of Radix Laboratory staff.

Karen Cobb
Financial/Budget Administrator, A228

Karen supports division management in the areas of financial and budget administration and forecasting, cost control, procurement, and effort reporting. She prepares program budgets and coordinates related budget/financial activities in support of both ongoing programs and new initiatives.

Mary

Mary Dzielski
Administrative Secretary, Room D235

Mary provides support to the deputy division director, project lead, and other members of Center for Nuclear Simulation group.  She also acts as liaison with Argonne/Biosciences and UC administrative staff in coordinating travel and meetings for Integrated Genomics and Systems Biology (IGSB) scientific staff.

Susan Gregurich
Administrative Secretary, Room A241

As secretary to the director of MCS's Laboratory for Advanced Numerical Simulations (LANS), Susan's responsibilities include maintaining the director's calendar and monitoring his correspondence.  Susan also provides administrative support for LANS-related meetings and workshops and maintains databases and Web-based information of the group's proposals.

Jan Griffin
Senior Staff Assistant, Room A228A

Jan manages human resource activities for the Associate Laboratory Director for Computing and Life Sciences (CLS) directorate.  She also provides oversight for human resource activities for MCS and for future start-up divisions, institutes and centers within CLS.

Kathy

Kathy Horkey

Kathy assists assists MCS's building manager.  Activities include processing shipping orders, supply and book orders, and requests for reimbursements.

Tamra

Tamra Lagerwall
Senior Clerk - Rm A241

Tamra completes a variety of administrative and clerical tasks in support of the personnel activities for the MCS Division. Also provides administrative support to staffing assistant for interviewees, including itineraries for travel by arranging ground and air transportation, overnight accommodations as well as, coordinating the interview schedule. Gathers, compiles, and organizes MCS staff attendance records which includes data entry of time off into the Kronos time and attendance program. Also assists the division administrator for education-related (DEP) appointments. Acts as back-up to TMS Representative.

Darlyn Mishur
Accounting/Financial Assistant, Room A241

Darlyn provides support for the division’s procurement actions, programmatic purchases, and subcontracts.  She also assists a subset of the division with travel arrangements.

Tom Morgan
MCS Program Manager, STA, Room A247

Tom coordinates many of the division's proposals and projects, participates in strategic planning and policy development, and represents the MCS Division Director in such areas as policy implementation.

Pat Pepper

Pat Pepper
Staff Assistant I, A240

Pat administers the personnel-related activities for the Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) Division. She provides advice, support, and counsel to division management, staff, and potential hires on personnel policies and procedures which includes employment status, job classification, grade, promotion and adjustment increases. She also acts as the division administrator for education-related (DEP) appointments.

Carolyn Peters
Administrative Secretary, Room C112

Carolyn is administrative secretary for the director of the TeraGrid project including the establishment and operation of the national Grid Infrastructure Group.  In this role, Carolyn closely interacts with 13 partner TeraGrid institutions.

Gail Pieper
MCS Coordinator of Writing and Editing, Room A228

Gail edits all our preprints and technical reports, prepares newsletters and other nontechnical documents, and coordinates all aspects of technical writing and editing for the division.

Tina Stanton-Piersanti
Computer Account Administrator, Room B256

Tina acts as the Help Desk Customer Support Representative. She monitors the Support Group request queue and ensures appropriate assignment of requests and assignment and tracking of loaner equipment.

Judy Stickels
Manager, Building Operations, Room A240

Judy is responsible for space allocation, procurements, property management, telephone moves/installs, keys, cardkeys, and records management. She acts as Environmental Safety, Health and Quality Assurance (ESH/QA) representative and Building Manager.

Lori Swift
Administrative Secretary, Room D235

Lori is administrative secretary to managers and staff responsible for the division's advanced computing technologies, scientific applications, and high-performance networking R&D projects.

Lynn Valentini

Lynn is administrative secretary to manager of the Distributed Systems Laboratory (DSL) and other members of the group.

Janet Werner

As executive secretary to the MCS and ALCF division directors, Janet maintains directors’ calendars, travel schedule, and correspondence.
